Remain
Jesus uses the imagery of a vine and branches to teach us about spiritual life, calling us to remain in Him rather than striving in our own strength. Our culture teaches self-sufficiency, but spiritually we're designed for dependence on Christ as our source. When we try to produce spiritual fruit through effort alone, we exhaust ourselves trying to be something we were never meant to be. True spiritual growth comes from staying connected to Jesus, not from our performance or achievements. Remaining in Christ isn't about adding more spiritual activities but about recognizing His constant presence in our daily lives. This connection produces fruit naturally - love, joy, peace, and other qualities that flow from relationship rather than religious effort.
