Thirsting After Truth When Rebuilding Becomes Hard
Jan 18, 2026 • Bruce Humphrey
When we embark on meaningful endeavors, resistance often appears the moment progress becomes visible. Nehemiah faced fierce opposition when rebuilding Jerusalem's wall, teaching us that ridicule is often the first weapon used against God's work. The key to overcoming resistance isn't avoiding it, but returning to truth when pressure mounts. Most people don't drift by rejecting truth outright; they slowly let other voices interpret their lives instead of God's Word. Faithful response means both trusting God and taking responsible action, understanding that faithfulness isn't measured by ease but by showing up when life becomes difficult.
