Pray Boldly

Prayer can feel awkward and uncertain, but Paul's prayer in Ephesians 3 reveals something powerful about what prayer really is. Before making any requests, Paul begins by acknowledging who God is: a Father who already knows us, loves us, and welcomes us into His presence. From that foundation, Paul does not ask God to change his circumstances. He asks God to do something deeper, praying for inner strength, for Christ to be at home in our hearts, and for roots that grow deep in God's love. Our confidence in prayer is not that we know what God will do, but that we know who He is. He is able to accomplish infinitely more than we could ever ask or imagine.
