The Pure in Heart Life

Jesus says in Matthew 5:8 that the pure in heart will see God, but purity here has nothing to do with perfection. It means having an undivided heart, one that is fully devoted and completely loyal to God. Before God changes what we do, He changes what we love. Every heart has a throne, and someone is always sitting on it. Good things like comfort, career, or approval can quietly compete with God for first place. The promise Jesus makes to the pure in heart is not an easier life or material success. It is something far greater: they will see God. That promise begins now, and it starts with the honest prayer, Lord, give me an undivided heart.
